With two shows at 6 and 8 p.m. the day before, it’s clear that her comedy is in high demand. 3. African photographs and artwork in Bonita

In “Through My Lens: A Journey of African Art and Vision,” photographer Jacke McCurdy shows a body of work that reflects her intense love for Africa, which she has visited seven times. The opening reception is tonight from 6-8 o’clock. Friday, July 7th. Lasts till the 12th of August. 2. Indoor concert in Naples, for free

From 1-3 p.m. every Wednesday during the summer, the Naples Jazzmasters Dixieland Band puts on a free concert. The Norris Center on Eighth Avenue South and Eighth Street South in Naples will host a festival on Saturday, July 8. It costs nothing. However, donations are gladly accepted. Except for July 22 and September 9 and 16, concerts will be held at the same time and location each Saturday until September 30. naplesjazzsociety.com

1. New Naples Art exhibit opens

On view from July 8 through October 15, the Naples Invitational can be seen at Naples Art (585 Park St., Naples). “this exhibit will feature an intergenerational and interdisciplinary group of approximately 40 artists, whose dynamic works reflect the complexities and opportunities of the American experience today,” the website for Naples Art reads. Naples Art Institute members, students, and children under 18 get in free, as can Collier County residents who can show proof of residency (a driver’s license). 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.: Guided Meditation in the Forest. The Audubon Society’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary on Friday, July 7th. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and fresh air of the world’s largest remaining tract of virgin bald cypress forest. This is a sensory journey with expert direction. The instructor’s fee is $5, but it’s free with the Sanctuary entrance. Go to Naples, FL, at the Blair Audubon Center on 375 Sanctuary Road.
